
The FBI announced it prevented a potential Halloween terrorist attack.
Director Kash Patel posted to X early Friday morning that his agency arrested multiple suspects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack this weekend.
Millions of Americans are preparing to hit the streets tonight and over the weekend for trick-or-treating and Halloween parties and festivities.
It’s not clear how many people were arrested or what the nature of the potential attack was, but Patel said the FBI will release more details shortly on the alleged plot.
Just after arriving back from Asia on Thursday, Donald Trump helped kick-off Halloween weekend by welcoming kids to the White House for the annual trick-or-treating event.

Meanwhile, just hours later, Patel posted: ‘This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come.’
‘Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland,’ he added.
Michigan is run by a Democratic governor and Senate – but has a Republican House.
The state’s largest city, Detroit, has some of the highest violent crime rates in the country, and has faced criticism from Trump and other Republicans for mismanagement.
