Controversial gubernatorial candidate sparks fury after holding up VERY offensive sign while slamming Trump

A California gubernatorial candidate has infuriated the president’s supporters by holding up a sign reading ‘F*** Trump’ at a political rally.
Democrat Katie Porter, who has made her bid to replace Gavin Newsom, addressed the California Democratic Party State Convention in San Francisco on Saturday.
Porter spoke to the crowd with a whiteboard labeled with the expletive slogan, and encouraged fans to scream the words aloud.
‘F*** Trump,’ she shouted, as her supporters echoed the chant.
‘Together, we’re going to kick Trump’s a** in November,’ Porter said. ‘I’ll stand up to Trump and his cronies just like I did in Congress.’
Newsom’s term limit is up this year, leaving multiple candidates to vie for the seat.
Porter is an outspoken Trump dissenter who has been embroiled in multiple controversies during her bid for governor, including screaming at her employees on camera.
Conservatives were quick to swoop on her profane Trump sign, condemning it as the latest sign that she has ‘nothing to offer Californians but division and hate’.

Porter has been a frequent critic of Trump, though constituents across the aisle have criticized her dissent of the president
‘And there you have it… the Democrats’ entire platform summed up in two words. They’ve got nothing to offer Californians but division and hate,’ one person wrote on social media.
‘This is what she focuses on,’ another added.
‘When California has the worst homeless situation, highest poverty rate and highest unemployment rate, barely anyone can afford to buy a home or rent one…Highest gas prices Disgusting!’
‘They can’t run on their successful policies, so they have to do this,’ a third chimed in.
‘To paraphrase Democrat former Rep. Harley Rouda, Katie Porter is an abuse fraud, a bully with a whiteboard, and you should vote for anyone else except Katie Porter,’ a fourth person said.
In the remainder of her address, Porter proposed the University of California and California State go tuition-free.
She also advocated for single-payer health care and eliminating state income tax for those who made under $100,000.
‘I’m running for governor because I’m willing and ready to get s*** done,’ she added.

Porter is no stranger to controversy.
In October, a video resurfaced of Porter yelling at a staffer to ‘get out of my f***ing shot,’ during a conversation with a journalist about electric vehicles.
She also gained negative attention for snapping at a journalist who asked how she intended to win over Trump voters that she’d ‘need to win.’
‘How would I need them in order to win, ma’am?’ Porter fired back.
Porter was also previously accused of allegedly dumping scalding mashed potatoes on her ex-husband’s head and verbally abusing him, per 2013 divorce documents seen by KOMO News.
She has been criticized for being a ‘difficult’ boss who verbally abused employees during her time in Congress.
As the clip of her most recent escapade went viral on social media, many were quick to criticize Porter’s choice of words.
Some even complained that her dislike for the president could not be her only platform.
Porter has been the subject of several controversies in the past, including scolding staffers
Porter previously served in the California in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2025.
She ran for Senate in 2024 but failed to advance to the general election after the primary.
Her supporters are no strangers to her whiteboard, which she used frequently in congressional hearings to silently criticize those on the stand.
She is one of seven Democrats on the ballot for the June primary.
Along with her distaste for the president, Porter is running on affordability, healthcare access and clean energy laws.
The Daily Mail has contacted Porter’s campaign office for comment.
