Cops rushed to Dodgers All-Star Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s LA-area home as burglars shatter glass door and windows

Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been identified as the target of a recent burglary, according to a new report from TMZ.
Authorities told the website that three people were seen at his Los Angeles-area home, where they allegedly shattered a glass door and several windows. Somehow they were unable to gain access to the residence and ultimately scattered after a 911 call was placed by a private security company.
Police arrived at the scene, by which point the would-be thieves were long gone, according to TMZ.
Yamamoto was in Cincinnati at the time of the robbery on Tuesday, where his Dodgers came back to beat the Reds at Great American Ballpark, 5-4.
The 26-year-old native of Okayama, Japan is just the latest athlete to be targeted by home robbers.
Earlier this month it was Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star Ketel Marte whose Scottsdale home was targeted in burglars. Nobody was home at the time, but a number of personal items and jewelry were stolen. Police did find signs of forced entry, a department spokesperson told Daily Mail.

Other high-profile athletes like NFL stars Joe Burrow, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were also targeted when they were known to be away from their respective residences.
The FBI previously warned leagues about organized criminals targeting pro athletes.
One Seattle man has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries at the homes of current and retired pro athletes in Washington state .
The alleged burglary ring is accused of hitting the residences of current Seattle Mariners stars Julio Rodriguez and Luis Castillo, club legend Edgar Martinez, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher and Washington native Black Snell, as well as Seahawks great Richard Sherman.
Meanwhile a group of Chilean nationals have been arrested on suspicion of robbing Burrow’s home in rural Ohio. Three of the men are facing federal charges for allegedly transporting stolen goods and falsifying record in a federal investigation. Those three are suspected by investigators of orchestrating similar burglaries at the homes Kelce and Mahomes.
The FBI has warned sports leagues about crime organizations targeting professional athletes. The NFL and NBA have issued security alerts to athletes.
Yamamoto is currently the Dodgers’ best pitcher, although that could change as his countrymen Shohei Ohtani regains his form as he continues to ramp up his workload following his second Tommy John surgery. Another Japanese pitcher, rookie Roki Sasaki, could be on his way back after battling shoulder issues and plans to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.
But it’s Yamamoto who has been the most reliable starter for the Dodgers during their injury plagued 2025 campaign, thanks to a miniscule 2.63 earned-run average.
Since winning a World Series as a rookie in 2024, Yamamoto has been nearly unhittable, holding opponents to a .195 batting average.
