Someone tell Belly’s teeny-tiny engagement ring to move over, there’s a new ring captivating the zeitgeist — footballer Cristiano Ronaldo‘s golf ball of an engagement ring he presented to his girlfriend-turned-fiancée, Georgina Rodríguez.
The loved-up couple announced their engagement on Rodríguez’s Instagram by sharing a close-up photo of the ring — an oval-cut diamond with two smaller baguette diamonds on either side.
Rodríges captioned the post by writing: “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas”, which translates to, “Yes, I do. In this life, and in all my lives”.
Ronaldo, 40, and Rodríguez, 31, have been dating for nine years and have four children together. They met when Al-Nassr star visited a Gucci store where Rodríguez was working, and the rest, as they say, is history!
The couple haven’t dished any more dirt on their engagement, or the blinding ring itself, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from being sent into a tizzy over the rock, with fans asking the big questions: How much did it cost? How many carats is it? How fkn heavy is it?

Jeweller Maggi Simpkins — who has made a million-dollar ring before — estimates that the ring’s price sits somewhere between $2 million USD and $3 million USD (approx $3,071,254.00 to $4,606,879.62 AUD). However, in a chat with The Cut, Sinmpkins notes that it’s pretty hard to narrow down the cost as there are so many variables in the diamond and production quality, and the two smaller (yet still huge) stones on either side.

While the rock does appear to be larger than my eyeball, Simpkins notes that the image could be deceiving and we don’t know for sure how big the diamond actually is.
“Oval cuts tend to have more finger coverage than other shapes of the same weight,” she claims.
Meanwhile, fellow jeweller Briony Raymonds told Women’s Wear Daily that she believes the big-ass rock sits at 25 to 30 carats. Considering the regular, everyday engagement ring sits at about 0.5 to 1.5 carats in Australia, we can all rest assured that Rodroíguez’s ring is a fkn behemoth and Miss Girl better start clapping like Nicole Kidman.

Like a magpie, I can’t help but gawk in awe at Rodríguez’s ring, but I’ve got to be honest, I think it’s a little bit tacky.
While it’s incredibly impressive that Ronaldo can afford such a showstopper of a ring, it just feels like such a bonkers, gaudy and impractical display of wealth. If I had that thing on my finger, I’d be terrified of losing it.
But then again, Ronaldo is currently estimated to have a net worth of around $1 billion USD, so I guess a few million isn’t too much to spare for the football star.
With the impracticalities of carrying a boulder on your finger every day, perhaps the couple will also purchase another everyday ring for Rodríguez to wear and save the gargantuan diamond for special occasions?
If so, god, I’d love to see it.
