Responding to hateful comments she’d seen earlier this week, Chloe said in a TikTok video that she had been left “shaking with anger” after seeing messages about her mum that were “worse than [she] could have imagined”.
“Living in Australia with an Asian mum, I have seen mum experience so much racism. And so obviously, you know, her being on the show, I was terrified for that from the possible contestants and the Australian public,” Chloe said in the clip, which has garnered over 700,000 views.
“It’s just not OK, and obviously [with] white boomers, you’re going to expect a lot of hate amongst that group, so maybe I should have known. But it is horrible,” Chloe said.

Both Chloe and her mum received support from fans in the comments, with one writing that they were “absolutely disgusted by the amount of racism in this country” and another saying they were “sad to hear this about your dear Mum”.
In the same video, Chloe accused Channel 9, the network behind The Golden Bachelor, of failing to moderate comments about her mum on its social media pages. “I thought there would at least be moderation from Channel 9, it’s actually a joke,” Chloe said.
In a follow-up post shared on Thursday, Chloe wrote that Channel 9 had “finally tak[en] action on the racist comments towards [her] mum”, and thanked her followers for reporting the hateful messages and bringing them to the network’s attention.
She went on to reject the fan sentiment that contestants “signed up for” this kind of treatment, saying “no one signs up to have racism directed towards them”.
“Racism shouldn’t be normalised, it should always be called out,” Chloe said.
It comes just three days ahead of The Golden Bachelor finale, which will cap off an inaugural season of the Bachelor spinoff that featured familiar faces, shock eliminations, and plenty of off-screen drama.
For all those already eager for a follow-up instalment, there’s been whispers that a second season of The Golden Bachelor is in the works. But before we get there, let’s see if all your predictions about this season’s winner are correct, shall we?
