Dean Lewis has had his ARIA and TikTok nominations withdrawn after facing a wave of accusations regarding his behaviour towards fans.

The Australian singer was nominated for Song of the Year at the ARIA Awards for his song “With You”, but has since removed the track from contention at the upcoming ceremony.
The move was confirmed by an ARIA spokesperson, who told the Daily Telegraph that the awards body had “been advised that the artist and his management have requested to withdraw from Song of the Year, which we have now actioned”.
Lewis was competing in the category alongside the likes of FISHER (for “Stay”), The Kid LAROI (for “Girls”) and Royel Otis (for their cover of “Linger”).
Lewis’ ARIA withdrawal comes alongside his removal as a nominee for the annual TikTok Awards, where he was up for the Music Artist of the Year Award.
“To present Dean with a genuine opportunity to step back and focus on his wellbeing, TikTok has agreed to remove Dean from nomination for their annual awards at our request,” a spokesperson said, per the Daily Telegraph.
In the TikTok category, Lewis was nominated alongside musicians Keli Holiday, Larissa Lambert, Lance Savali and Max Jackson.
It comes after Lewis issued an apology in the wake of accusations he had acted inappropriately with fans, after his private text messages were leaked on social media.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to sincerely apologise to those I’ve hurt,” Lewis wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “This is not only an apology to the women who have spoken up, but those who haven’t and felt hurt by my words or behaviour.”
“I am enrolling myself into intense therapy to make better choices and dramatically shift my approach to dating, relationships, and showing greater care to the women in my life,” he added.
Lewis has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing. His previously ARIA-nominated song “With You” forms part of his third studio album The Epilogue, which was released in October of last year.
