Deion Sanders had a tumor in his bladder removed, he revealed alongside his medical team on Monday.
The Colorado football coach had been dealing with unspecified health issues of late, causing him to spend time away from the school and his team.
And in a press conference on Monday, Sanders shared that he is now cancer-free after being diagnosed with bladder cancer earlier this year.
Sanders’ doctor announced that the coach and legendary NFL player underwent a full bladder removal (and creation of a new one) to remedy the issue.
‘You were such a blessing,’ Sanders said to Dr. Janet Kukreja, who was sat next to him. ‘Guiding me to, taking me through, verbalizing every darn detail so that I can make an educated decision.’
In a recent video posted to his family’s YouTube channel, Sanders revealed in May that he had to make a will.
‘That’s not easy, at all, to think that you might not be there, but you want to make sure everybody is straight.’
