Disney sparks outrage as it quietly eliminates beloved treat from theme park: ‘Blatant cost-cutting measure’

Disneyland has sparked fierce outrage as it quietly eliminated a slew of fan-favorite treats from the theme park, which some believe was a way to cut down on costs.
The Happiest Place on Earth has famously served different types of fries based on its various lands for years – ranging from ‘crinkle-cut fries’ over in Grizzly Peak to ‘steak fries’ at Flo’s V8 Cafe in the Cars-themed area.
But now, in a move that has been branded as the ‘French fry apocalypse’ by Disney fans, the theme park – based in Anaheim, California – has removed these unique food offerings from the menus.
The ‘crinkle-cut fries’ at Smokejumpers Grill, the ‘film strip fries’ at Award Wieners, the ‘tater tots’ at Red Rose Taverne, the ‘steak fries’ from Flo’s V8 Cafe and the ‘homemade chips’ from Cafe Daisy were all suddenly gone from menus earlier this week, with no announcement from Disney.
Instead, they have been replaced by standard French fries, and fans are furious over the change.
‘These weren’t just sides, they were part of the immersive experience,’ wrote popular Disney blogger Inside the Magic, who branded it as a ‘blatant cost-cutting measure.’
Other Disney regulars, however, wondered on Reddit if it stemmed from a ‘temporary supply chain issue.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Disneyland for comment.

Even so, many Disney guests quickly took to the platform to share their outrage over the change.
‘Heartbroken,’ wrote one fan.
‘The film strip fries were actually soooo amazing,’ said another.
‘One less reason to eat in the parks I suppose,’ quipped someone else.
‘Bruh the homemade chips and filmstrip fries were delicious, why would they do this?’ read a fourth post.
A fifth said: ‘This is horrible news. The regular fries are terrible. Even the homemade chips? How dare they!’
‘The Red Rose Taverne tots are part of our favorite breakfast in the park. I am so mad,’ shared a different user.
‘This upsets me more then raising prices. I don’t go to Disneyland for an economical outing. I go because it’s suppose to be “The most magical place on Earth.” Magical does not equate to generic fries everywhere,’ scathed another fan.

‘Very disappointing,’ penned someone while, while one moaned: ‘On top of everything else they’re taking away and just everything going on in the world this is like a stupid but still impactful gut punch.
It comes as Disneyland’s ticket prices continue to soar.
A ticket to enter Disneyland when it first opened in 1955 would have cost an adult just $1, which would be $12.09 today if adjusted for inflation, while children’s tickets cost a mere 50 cents.
At the time of opening, however, guests had to pay additional fees for each ride. But these cost just 10 cents for kids and 23 cents for adults – the equivalent of $1.21 and $2.78 in today’s dollars.
Now, it’ll cost you anywhere from $104 to $224 for a day at Disneyland, with Park Hopper options adding $70 to $90.
Last summer, the park came under fierce fire after it raised the prices on ‘hundreds’ of its menu items, per Disney Tourist Blog.
‘This includes counter and table service restaurants, snack stands and bars, [including] everything from entrees to desserts to snacks, bottled beverages, alcohol and more,’ the site reported.
Popcorn went from $6 to $6.50, chicken tenders rose from $11.99 to $13.49, a DASANI water bottle jumped from $4.39 to $4.79 and a soda increased from $5.29 to $5.69, amongst other things.
