Dog owner pinned against her truck and savaged by a coyote as she battled to stop the beast eating her beloved pets

A woman in Pennsylvania was ready to sacrifice her life for her beloved pets after she was mauled by a coyote and pinned against her truck in the brutal attack.

Brandy Willard, 46, went out to check on her dogs when she was attacked by a coyote and left with gruesome injuries all over her body.

‘”Okay, I’m getting killed,” is what I was thinking,’ Willard told WPXI

Willard was attempting to coax her dogs out from hiding under her truck outside of her home in Claysville on November 21.

As she walked around the vehicle, she saw the coyote that immediately charged at her and pinned her against the truck.

‘I had my hands like a pretzel trying to get it off of me,’ she continued. ‘I was on fire. It burned, my whole body just burnt.’

She was rushed to Canonsburg Hospital, left with gashes across her face, arms, thighs and shins.

But she believes that being pinned against her truck actually saved her life and prevented her from being taken to the ground, she told the outlet.

Now, Willard has been left covered in scratches and has been required to get rabies shots.

‘They have to take this really thick needle and stick it inside your wound twice, one in your arm,’ she said.

‘I got to go back in four more days, then seven days, then in 10 days and 14 days.’

A warden from the Pennsylvania Game Commission, who responded to her home, couldn’t confirm if the animal had been a coyote, a wild dog or another animal.

But Willard was certain that she had been attacked by a coyote, and told the outlet: ‘I know what it was. I know what I saw.’

‘I know what kind of noise it made. You can’t get that out of your head,’ she added.

More than anything, she was happy to be alive and thankful that her dogs also survived.

‘I’m not going to let you eat my dog. It was just not going to happen,’ she said.

On Facebook, Willard said that the Game Wardens and Fish and Wildlife Department went back to her house ‘to confirm it was a coyote.’

‘However, they told me I can’t kill them unless I’m outside my house and in danger,’ she added.
