Doja Cat has seemingly made reference to her rumoured romance with Joseph Quinn, saying in a recent interview that she’s “allowing things to happen” in her love life.

ICYMI, speculation about Doja’s relationship erupted in August of last year, when she was spotted on multiple occasions alongside the also impossibly-attractive Stranger Things star.
The pair packed on the PDA during an outing in London last year, and were again spotted hand-in-hand in an airport in Mexico in February.
While chatter about the pair has died down in recent months, Doja slyly addressed her romantic life in an interview with the New York Times published on Friday.
It all came to a head when Doja said her upcoming album Vie — a follow-up to 2023’s Scarlet — will see her “talking about not only my own sexuality, but his”.
Naturally, the mysterious “he” prompted a mention of Quinn in the interview, to which Doja said she’s “just having fun” in her relationships and is “allowing things to happen” in terms of her romantic life.
In true Doja fashion, she also said that while she loves men — and has devoted a whole album to the concept of love — she also loves “bullying men”… because even pop stars contain multitudes!
It’s the kind of ever-so-coy response you’d expect from a pop star, and while the interview made mention of Quinn, it’s not entirely known who Doja is referring to, since the pair were reported to have broken up mid-way through this year.
In April, Quinn was reportedly spotted on celebrity dating app Raya (my membership’s still pending), and in July, the Fantastic Four star was apparently seen on a date with model Amelia Zerbe.
Of course, the romantic in me hopes those breakup reports are hogwash, especially since the pair’s meet-cute is perhaps the clearest sign that manifestation actually works.
If you’re not across that lore, Doja offered a masterclass in the law of attraction when, two years before they were an item, she shared an X post declaring “Joseph Quinn fine as shit” (because she has two eyes).
She even went as far as directly messaging his Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp to shoot her shot while asking about Quinn’s relationship status and telling Schnapp to connect the pair.
Schnapp sharing those messages on his social media caused a bit of a hullabaloo, but out of the rubble came an actual meeting between Doja and Quinn that eventually led us here.
We’ll have to wait and see exactly who Doja is referring to when Vie drops on September 26, but best believe I’ll be grabbing a magnifying glass and cosplaying Sherlock Holmes to decode all the mysterious mentions of “he”.
