Donald Trump has dusted off his old feud with Taylor Swift, this time taking a swipe at her looks on Truth Social.
On Friday, May 16, the 78-year-old US president posted to his nearly 10 million followers, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Because apparently, when you’re running the country, there’s nothing more pressing than rating a women’s body.
This latest outburst is just the newest chapter in Trump’s ongoing one-man show against Swift. The drama kicked off back in September 2024, when Swift called out the use of AI-generated images of her in Trump’s campaign ads and then publicly endorsed US Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.

Trump, never one to let a celebrity opinion slide, fired back with his signature subtlety: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.” The next day, he doubled down on Fox & Friends, saying, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Spoiler alert: Swift seems to be doing just fine.
Despite Swift not bothering to reply, Trump’s kept the grudge alive. At the White House in April, while celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl win, he couldn’t resist another jab.
He pointed out that both he and Swift were at the game-she was there to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce — then asked the crowd, “How did that work out?” and repeated it for good measure.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Swift’s career is still on fire. Her Eras Tour is the highest-grossing tour ever, she was Spotify’s most-streamed artist in 2024, and her latest album broke streaming records.
Meanwhile, it seems not everyone in the Trump family is on board with the anti-Swift campaign. Ivanka Trump took her daughter Arabella to see the Eras Tour in Miami last October, and Arabella even scored a Swift-themed birthday cake, which Ivanka posted on Instagram with the caption, “Best cake for my favorite Swiftie,” referencing the “Blank Space” music video.
So, at least someone in the family has taste.
Swift, for her part, hasn’t responded to Trump’s latest attempt at a roast. When she endorsed Kamala Harris, she wrote on Instagram, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.” No need for all-caps rants there.
So, while Trump’s out here rating pop stars, Swift is breaking records and selling out stadiums. If that’s what “no longer hot” looks like, most people would probably take it.
