Drones detected above Washington DC Army base where Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio live, report says

Drones have been detected above the Army base in Washington, D.C. where Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth live, according to a report in the Washington Post.
US officials have not determined where they came from, but they said multiple drones have appeared over Fort Lesley J. McNair on one night in the last 10 days.
This triggered a meeting at the White House over how to respond and whether to increase security measures.
The military is already operating on a heightened alert level because of the war in Iran that the United States and Israel have been engaged in for the last nearly three weeks.
The drones over Fort McNair, which sits on the banks of the Anacostia River, have some officials considering whether to relocate Rubio and Hegseth, two people familiar told the Post.
So far, Rubio and Hegseth have not moved. It has been known that they have lived on ‘Generals Row’ at the base since October.
Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell declined to speak about the drones.
‘The department cannot comment on the secretary’s movements for security reasons, and reporting on such movements is grossly irresponsible,’ he said in a statement to the Post.

Fort McNair has the National Defense University and houses some of the Pentagon’s most senior military officials.
Historically, it has not been home to political leaders, but some Trump officials have cited security concerns as their reasoning for moving onto bases.
Outgoing Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem moved into a home for the Coast Guard commandant on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, The Atlantic reported.
Fort McNair is also conveniently located near Capitol Hill, the White House and the Pentagon.
