English traitor who is fighting for Putin in Ukraine BURNS his British passport in rambling video

An English traitor who is fighting for Russia in the conflict against Ukraine has burnt his British passport in protest at what he claims is the UK government’s ‘threat’ to revoke his citizenship.

Aiden Minnis, 38, from Chippenham, Wiltshire, posted footage online of himself setting the crucial travel document alight in front of a large Russian flag.

Goaded on by a Russian soldier, he ends the clip with the words ‘F*** Great Britain, Slava Rossii [glory to Russia]’ before firing an assault rifle, which is believed to be an AK-74M – the main service rifle in the Russian army – into the air.

Minnis joined the Russian army in January 2024, reportedly abandoning his two children.

Despite being disowned by his family and friends in the UK, he continues to brag about his life on the frontline, which allegedly involves ‘laying landmines and explosives’ to kill Ukrainian soldiers.

Wearing combat fatigues and carrying his weapon, Mr Minnis claims in a new 40-second rant to camera that his actions are a demonstration against legislation that allows the UK to evoke the citizenship of those who partake in terrorism overseas.

In the video, posted on his X and Facebook accounts, he says: ‘This is my British passport.

‘This new anti-terror legislation in the United Kingdom says they can withdraw and revoke citizenship that participates in anything that they deem as affecting their country.

‘Consider my passport revoked, consider it rescinded, consider that I do not want it any more.’

He is then seen using a lighter to set fire to his passport, which appears to have been doused in some kind of accelerant.

In an explanatory post on X, Mr Minnis said: ‘Today I renounce my British citizenship. F*** you Great Britain. Until the end, I stand firm. Slava Russia.’

He then posted a line of Russian text, which translates as ‘Our cause is just, the enemy will be defeated, victory will be ours!’

Mr Minnis styles himself as a ‘Stormtrooper, Motorized Rifle Regiment, at The Russian Armed Forces’ and claims to have been awarded the ‘Medal of Suvorov’ – a state decoration of the Russian Federation given to ground troops for courage in battle.

He has also frequently bragged about ‘killing khokhols’ – a derogatory slang term Russians use for Ukrainians, Wiltshire 999s reported.

Mr Minnis is a former drug addict who was also previously a member of the far-right National Front party during his time in the UK.

In 2008 he was jailed for four years and three months for an unprovoked racially assaulting on a man in the street, according to The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.

Mr Minnis claims that his passport burning is a response to what he claims is the British government’s threat to strip him of his UK citizenship under Section 40 of the British Nationality Act.

However, this is not new legislation and actually dates back to 1981.

‘I renounce my British citizenship, not out of anger, but with the clarity of a man who seeks to live in accordance with virtue,’ Mr Minnis said on Facebook.

‘I do not fear the loss of a passport or the scorn of a nation that has, in my view, strayed from righteousness.

‘A man’s home is not a piece of paper or a flag; it is the place where his soul finds purpose. For me, that home is now Russia, where I stand shoulder to shoulder with those who share my vision of freedom.’

In 2024 Mr Minnis called Britain a ‘fascist state’ just weeks after Putin won a sham election in Russia where his opponents were either dead or imprisoned.

Back home, he has been disowned by his family who claim they ‘want nothing to do with him.’

Last year, Minnis pledged his allegiance to Russia and its dictator, proudly showing off a video of his Russian passport.

‘I have a Russian passport. I am now Russian,’ he said.

‘I am relieved because now I know I am safe, safe from prosecution in the UK, safe from false and bogus charges just because I want to come and fight for Russia and fight for a just cause and the people of Donbas.’

In another video, Mr Minnis repeated his loathing for the UK, and delight at his new passport making him ‘officially Russian’.

‘Of course, I am happy,’ said Minnis, who claims to have found love in Russia. ‘I am starting a new life in Russia. I am now Russian. I am happy to be Russian. I reiterate that I condemn my country or origin.’

The video was created by Kremlin-linked propaganda media outlet Readovka.

The agency was involved along with Putin-backing politicians in Russian republic Udmurtia – home of the Kalashnikov gun-making plant – in rushing through his citizenship at breakneck speed.

Speaking last year, a UK government spokesman said: ‘Reports of British nationals taking part in illegal invasion are shocking and their alleged actions are reprehensible.

‘Those who travel from the UK to conflict zones to engage in unlawful activity should expect to be investigated upon their return.’
