What is The Morning Show Season 5 about?
Not many plot details despite character descriptions for new cast have been revealed. Stoudt teased that a time would be likely between Seasons 4 and 5 as have been in breaks between installments in the past.
It will be interesting to see Jesse Williams’ Vernon enter the fray as the new Head of News, a position that has been somewhat cursed and was taken by William Jackson Harper’s Ben last season while Mia (Karen Pittman) had been vying for it for a long time. Stoudt teased that things would “get interesting between” Mia and Ben in Season 5.
“Oddly enough, a door is open that wasn’t open before, and Mia’s now thinking, ‘Well, gosh, maybe I wanted the wrong job. Maybe I wanted the big job after all,’” Stoudt told Deadline. “So I think that may be Stella’s strongest legacy, to sort of remind Mia what she might be capable of, and that she might be a much better fit for that job than Stella ever was.”

What happened in The Morning Show Season 4?
Season 4 concluded with Celine Dumont’s (Marion Cotillard) downfall in the finale after she was exposed for a deepfake of Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and other manipulative tactics to control the narrative at the now merged UBA and NBN — UBN.
The Head of News position went to Ben (William Jackson Harper), a Celine hire, which strained Mia and Stella’s (Greta Lee) friendship before Stella made a huge mistake with an AI program she was trying to develop. Thus, she left the CEO position open, and Celine took it over in addition to serving as president of the board at UBN.
