A former CNN correspondent has threatened to sue the insult-prone director of communications for the White House after he suggested she was fired in for having an affair ‘with a source.’
The remarks from Steven Cheung came in response to a post from Michelle Kosinski criticizing recent changes at CBS News.
‘John Dickerson leaving CBS, and CBS looking to hire Scott Jennings, tells you instantly all you need to know about the “revamped” network,’ Kosinski wrote.
Cheung, who is known for trolling and making personal attacks on Trump administration opponents, reshared the post and added his own snipe: ‘Didn’t you get fired from CNN for banging a source?’
The comment was a reference to a since-deleted 2020 report by the Sun claiming Kosinski had a ‘passionate affair’ with the UK’s then-ambassador to the US that ‘resulted in impressive scoops for Kosinski.’
The claims were repeatedly rejected as false by Kosinski. They were also disproven by the Department of Justice.
‘Uh— no. You upset?’ Kosinski responded to Cheung. ‘Feel like getting sued? Aren’t you the incel in chief?’
The former White House correspondent followed with a a post featuring a photo of Cheung walking on the White House’s South Lawn.

‘Who’s going as this monster for Halloween!’ she wrote in the post. ‘The costume is…complicated.’
Kosinski spent years denying the Sun’s claims that she received information from then-ambassador Kim Darroch, 71, for stories, saying she’d secured the scoops from other sources.
Darroch served as ambassador to the United States from 2016 to 2019.
The Sun piece claimed the affair took place within that span.
At the time, Kosinski was married and working as CNN’s senior diplomatic correspondent. She left the network in February 2020.
Both were cleared of wrongdoing following a probe by the Department of Justice in 2020.
Around the time of the allegations, leaked documents revealed that Darroch had branded Donald Trump ‘incompetent.’
He also claimed the president ‘radiates insecurity’ and instructed British officials to ‘start praising him for something he’s done’ if ever in his presence.

Last week, Cheung suggested that ex-GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger may be secretly using a gay dating app.
Earlier this month, he issued a bizarrely crude sex insult to Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez.
Cheung acted Trump’s principal spokesman for his 2024 presidential campaign.
