Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 has just completed its first Commitment Ceremony, and it looks like the drama amongst the brides has taken over the show, leaving fans buzzing.

Ahh, yes, our 2026 couples have finally got their first taste of the Ouch Couch (shout out to Laura Masia for this amazing term), and the tea is piping hot!
No, we’re not talking about the couples and their reality TV marriages. We’re talking about the drama between the brides, which stemmed from last episode’s heated challenge.
To give you a quick recap, Brook Crompton and Gia Fleur sent the experiment into a tizzy during the Red Flag Green Flag Revelations Week Challenge after calling other people’s relationships fake.
Unfortunately, for Stella Mickunaite, the claims against her relationship stuck with her until her time on the couch. While Stella and her MAFS hubby, Filip Gregov, had glowing reviews for the experts and their matchmaking skills, the NSW-based bride was forced to bring up what went down during Revelations Week as it disturbed her soul.
While Stella didn’t initially name names during her cheeky tea spill, Daddy John Aiken asked the group if they felt Stella and Filip were putting on a “performance”, which pushed Brook to speak up.
Brook then defended herself, claiming she never called their relationship “fake”, with Gia defending her fellow bride from Stella’s claims.
Bec Zacharia went on to defend Stella from Brook and Gia, which prompted eye rolls from Gia. Alissa Fey tried to also defend Stella, stating she was called “fake”. But instead, Gia shut Alissa down, with Gia telling her to “shut up” and that she speaks with an “infomercial” voice.
After Stella and Filip finally got to share their “stay” or “leave” decision — spoiler alert: they stay, and another spoiler alert: rumour has it they’re still together — Brook decided to confront Stella then and there.
“I’m not gonna sit there and be happy for someone when they call out a story that didn’t even happy,” Brook said as Stella and Filip returned to the group.
“Not one person here yesterday at lunch said they were unhappy with your happiness. So don’t put words in other people’s mouths and make it like we’re not happy for you,” Brook continued before accusing Stella of “playing the victim”.
Things get extremely explosive to a point at which the experts had to tell the brides to “hold it there”.
Eventually, the group were dismissed with the experts telling them they’ll be able to address this issue for “another day”, with Brook calling Stella a “fool”.
Stella attempted to speak to Brook after the shebang, but Brook decided to storm off with Chris tailing behind her.
In a confessional, Brook continued to vent her thoughts about Stella, going as far to call her a “snitch” after bringing the challenge to the Ouch Couch…. YEOUCH.

Naturally, with a Commitment Ceremony blow-up so early into the season, fans were entertained!
However, many had a lot to say about the “mean girl” energy, claiming Gia and Brook were presenting themselves in such a way. Some folks also praised Stella, Alissa and Bec for standing their ground during the tense confrontation.
If this was Commitment Ceremony number one, I can’t wait for the rest!!!! But all honesty, I mostly feel bad for Alissa for catching random strays during these conversations. Makes me wonder what isn’t shown in the final edit…
