Collingwood assistant coach Scott Selwood admits forward Brody Mihocek is an invaluable part of the Magpies’ forward line as his future at the club remains uncertain.
Mihocek is seeking a longer-term contract but it’s something he may only get at another club with the Magpies, who have an ageing list, reportedly playing hardball about his next deal.

“As a forwards coach, we do like to play a combative style and he’s a guy who can play tall or small in that he can crunch the packs or he can do chase down tackles,” Selwood told Fox Footy.
“There are not many keys [key forwards] like that, so selfishly as a forwards coach, I’d love to keep him as long as possible.”
Veteran onballer Tom Mitchell returns to the Magpies tonight and Selwood has tipped him to have a big game despite only playing nine games since the start of last season.
“It’s his strength position and he’s excited for the opportunity as he has missed most of last year and this year – any opportunity at AFL level, he’s ready to eat up and this is the perfect game for him against his old side,” Selwood told Fox Footy.
“I have a feeling it is going to be a good night for Tom.”
