Footballer 21, hit with lengthy ban and significant fine after admitting placing more than 250 BETS – as sanction is announced on player’s birthday!

AFC Wimbledon star Osman Foyo has been banned after admitting to 252 breaches of the FA’s betting rules.
The FA have banned Foyo, 21, for one month, which will be served immediately, and a further four months suspended.
Foyo will not be free to return until November 2 and will miss three League Two matches. He has also been hit with a £1,000 fine.
The Dutch forward was found to have placed the bets on matches between October 2023 and March 2025.
The FA said in a statement, published on Foyo’s 21st birthday, that he had accepted the offence.
‘An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned AFC Wimbledon’s Osman Foyo for breaches of The FA’s betting rules,’ it read.

‘It was alleged that the player breached FA Rule E8 252 times by placing bets on football matches between 29 October 2023 and 28 March 2025, and Osman Foyo subsequently admitted the charge.
‘The Regulatory Commission imposed a £1,000 fine and five-month suspension from all football and football-related activity following a hearing.
‘One month will be served immediately, with the suspension running up to and including 2 November 2025, and four months are suspended until 2 April 2027 pending any further breaches of The FA’s betting rules.’
Foyo, who joined AFC Wimbledon from Ipswich in January, has made eight appearances since signing for the club.
AFC Wimbledon travel to face Blackpool on Saturday, the first match of Foyo’s ban.
