Footy star Taylor Adams is rushed to hospital after being knocked out in alleged attack at trendy Sydney nightspot

AFL star Taylor Adams is recovering after being knocked out cold in an alleged assault involving two men at one of Justin Hemmes’s exclusive Sydney nightspots.

The Sydney Swans midfielder was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance just after the incident unfolded at the trendy Club Rose Bay pub at around 10pm on Saturday.

It’s understood Adams was hit in the face after he had left the venue, where he had been celebrating with a group of teammates.

‘Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 32-year-old man was involved in an argument and a subsequent assault with two men,’ NSW Police said in a statement.

‘The 32-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by one of the men, causing a small cut to his cheek, as well as being knocked to the ground, where he lost consciousness briefly.

‘The men left prior to the arrival of police.

‘Police have been told the two men are not known to the 32-year-old man.’

The Daily Mail does not suggest Adams was the aggressor in the incident.

Adams is recovering from a partial tear of his Achilles tendon, which he suffered in mid-December.

He played just four games for the Swans last season as he had an awful run with hamstring injuries.

Adams joined the club in a trade from Collingwood at the end of 2023.

Prior to that, he starred in 175 games for the Magpies, kicking 64 goals.

The Victorian was drafted by the Greater Western Sydney Giants with pick 13 in the 2011 national draft.

He went on to play 31 matches for the club before moving to Collingwood in 2014.
