Fresh blow for embattled footy star whose ex revealed pregnancy after relationship breakdown – as she drops big news about her new baby

Troubled footy star Bobby Hill has not returned to Collingwood for pre-season and is now on a leave of absence from the AFL club.

Hill, 25, didn’t train on Friday with his teammates as he works through a ‘personal situation’ in the eyes of the Magpies.

The forward had an interrupted 2025 campaign, only playing 14 games.

Hill split with his partner Georgia Devlin and then attempted to return ahead of the finals, but was overlooked for selection.

The 2023 Norm Smith medallist and premiership player signed a contract extension in April until the end of 2030, and it is understood Hill has no plans to depart the club.

Magpies footy boss Charlie Gardiner said the ‘care for Bobby and his health and wellbeing remain the priority as he continues to work through his personal situation’.

‘While on leave from the AFL program, we will continue to support Bobby so that he can be in the best possible position to return to the club in a full-time capacity when appropriate,’ he said.

After splitting with Hill, Devlin and the couple’s children returned to Western Australia.

The embattled footy star and Devlin share two boys, Bobby Junior and Malakai.

Drafted by GWS in 2018, Hill debuted aged just 18 and made his mark as a lightning‑quick forward with strong marking and a sharp goal sense.

His switch to Collingwood in 2023 paid off instantly – he kicked four goals in the grand final against Brisbane to win the Norm Smith Medal and then topped the club’s goal tally in 2024.

Throughout his rapid rise, Devlin featured prominently beside Hill.

The footy star also previously battled testicular cancer, having been diagnosed when he was just 22.

Hill underwent surgery and bravely decided to play on for GWS at the time.
