Fresh heartbreak for influencer Ellidy Pullin five years after the tragic death of her boyfriend Chumpy

The mother of Olympic snowboarding champion Chumpy Pullin has died, his widow Ellidy has revealed in a heartbreaking post to social media.
The model and podcaster, 32, announced the news of her mother-in-law Sally’s passing on her Instagram on Thursday morning.
The fresh heartbreak comes five years after Chumpy drowned on the Gold Coast at the age of 32 in a freak spearfishing accident on July 8, 2020.
Ellidy gave birth to now-three-year-old Minnie in 2021, who was conceived through a posthumous sperm retrieval process following her father’s shock death.
The couple had been dating for eight years before the accident, and while they never married, Ellidy changed her last name to Pullin in his honour.
‘Reunited with her boy Chump!! Together forever now, walking on the clouds, somewhere up there…’ Ellidy captioned a carousel of images of her late mother-in-law.

‘To remember this beautiful woman is to picture that warm, beaming smile and hear her cheeky giggle. I’ll forever cherish her special family lasagna recipe, and when she’d grab her ukulele of an afternoon and sing Chumpy’s song Four Babies over and over. We’d never get tired of that joyful voice.
‘I love you Sal. I’ll miss sailing with you, sun baking and sipping rum with you, nibbling cheese and listening to you identify every kind of bird species that exists in this world and imitating how each one chirps. I wish you could run me through Chumpy’s favourite cheesecake one more time because no one can ever nail it quite like you!
‘I will never stop talking about you and showing your beautiful grand-daughter Minnie photos and videos of your amazing-ness. You’re loved and adored by so many Sal – a real angel on earth, and now you’re one in the sky – reunited with your boy.
‘I know he’s holding you forever tight.’
Ellidy shared a series of images of her mother-in-law, who was seen holding her grand-daughter Minnie, playing guitar and enjoying boat days.
In a photo of Ellidy and Sal on a boat, the podcaster joked she was ‘probably singing me a lullaby while I try not spew’.
The post was flooded with heartfelt condolences from Ellidy’s followers.
‘Love you sis,’ Australian DJ Fisher commented.
‘RIP beautiful Sal ❤️ such a beautiful lady,’ his wife Chloe wrote.
‘God you’ve been through enough!’ another commented.

Sal’s death comes just months after Ellidy revealed there was still some of her late partner’s sperm available if she wanted ‘another Chumpy bubba’, but she is considering other options.
‘I do see myself having a baby one day with someone else, maybe in like five years’ time, but I can’t really see myself getting married,’ she told the Gold Coast Bulletin last year.
Ms Pullin said while she is not yet at the point where she wants to date anyone long-term, she has had some flings while on holiday.
‘What goes on in Bali can stay in Bali. But I couldn’t imagine bringing anyone home,’ she told the publication.
‘Right now I’m just really happy with the three of us – me, Minnie and Rummi.’
Rummi is Ellidy’s beloved Kelpie, who was Chumpy’s dog before his death.
In the years since Chumpy’s death, the model has co-hosted a podcast called Darling, Shine! with friend Chloe Fisher and has signed deals with Covergirl makeup, the LIV golf tournament and even Schmackos dog treats.
Last December, Chloe announced she would be stepping back from the podcast, which courted controversy earlier this year when Ellidy was slammed for complaining about scheduling and recording.
‘I’m very emotional and I don’t want to say it, but I will be taking a break from the podcast next year as Ellidy’s co-host,’ Chloe told listeners.
‘I just want to like properly explain the reasons why I will be taking a step back – and it’s just that – I will be taking a step back from co-hosting because I will be doing all the admin that comes with Darling, Shine!’
