Fresh tranche of Epstein emails shine stark new light on paedophile’s relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell

Ghislaine Maxwell discussed Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘lewd and lascivious’ plea deal with him and fertility treatment so they could have a baby, new emails show.

The British socialite and on-off girlfriend of the paedophile has claimed she was kept in the dark about his sexual crimes.

But in a fresh tranche of emails obtained by Bloomberg News, she appears to have had a direct involvement in his prosecution negotiations.

When Epstein’s lawyers were trying to cut a plea deal, Epstein emailed her in May 2008, in his customary style riddled with typos, to ask: ‘Question: Which one do you prefer,,, lewd and lscivious conduct,, or procuring minors for prostituion.’

Maxwell’s reply, from her ‘gmax@’ email account, states: ‘I suppose Lewd and lecivious conduct..I would prefer lewd and lescivious conduct w/a prositute if possible’.

Her suggestion, effectively, was that Epstein should select the option that did not mention underage victims.

A month later, the Wall Street financier pleaded guilty to procurement of minors for sex and she wrote to him: ‘I’m devastated. I can’t even process…’

Maxwell, 63, is now serving 20 years after being convicted of masterminding a scheme to round up schoolgirls on an industrial scale for the paedophile to molest.

The daughter of the late tycoon Robert Maxwell, who rubbed shoulders with two US presidents, a pope and a parade of global A-listers, she recently gave an interview to federal law enforcement officials in which she insisted she was Epstein’s one-time girlfriend turned property manager and was not privy to his horrendous crimes.

Yet the new emails made public yesterday afternoon tell a different story. Included is a spreadsheet bearing her initials itemising nearly 2,000 gifts such as lingerie and chocolates, some for teenage girls who later lodged sexual abuse complaints against Epstein and Maxwell.

The couple also discussed fertility treatment. A 2005 email contained instructions on a sperm donation, in which she directed him: ‘You can do the sample at home.’

Apparently Epstein’s sample had to be collected ‘within 90 mins of my procedure’, suggesting they hoped she would get pregnant with his child.

Bloomberg said it had 18,000 emails from Epstein’s email account. Some border on the ridiculous, such as a discussion of how to transport a 40lb giant tortoise to Epstein’s Caribbean hideaway Little St James – dubbed ‘paedo island’ by his victims.

Among those victims was Virginia Roberts, who claimed she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew on the island when she was 17, which the duke denies.

When Ms Roberts – later Virginia Giuffre – named Maxwell as Epstein’s accomplice, the British socialite circulated claims that previous rape complaints had been dropped due to Ms Robert’s ‘lack of credibility’, according to Bloomberg.

Heartless jibes litter Epstein’s crude emails to Maxwell, including rejecting one young woman who was offered to him as ‘fat and Asian’. He added that a ‘Swede doesn’t look so fat’. Another one was ‘too big… but I can do; tell her no nail polish’.
