Full details of Aaron Judge’s worrying elbow injury revealed by Yankees manager Aaron Boone

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has finally revealed the extent of Aaron Judge’s elbow injury – and it’s a relief for the Bronx Bombers.

Yankees fans were left fearing the worst when the captain was missing from the lineup Saturday morning after he he reported feeling discomfort in his right elbow.

The team was left sweating the results of scans throughout their defeat to the Philadelphia Phillies with Boone finally revealing following the game that the slugger had sustained a flexor strain.

It comes as somewhat of a small relief for the Yankees after Judge’s absence had sparked fears of a UCL tear – something which could have ruled him out until 2027.

Instead, Judge will be placed on injured reserve as he undergoes treatment on the strain. However, it means the 6-foot-7 star is expected to miss at least 10 days, which still comes as a minor blow to the struggling Pinstripes.

Judge’s stint on the IR list couldn’t come at a worst time for the Yankees, whose 9-4 defeat to the Phillies marked their seventh loss in 10 games.

Aaron Boone has finally revealed the extent of Aaron Judge’s elbow injury

‘All in all good news because all of us I think feared the worst and he’s about as tough as they come and for him to even show some vulnerability and pain and then just watching him throw last night,’ Boone told reporters. ‘I knew we had an issue probably. So any time you fear the worst with that.’

Judge is expected to make his return in August as designated hitter before resuming his role at center field at a later date. ‘Hitting wasn’t the issue,’ confirmed Boone.

‘He’s on board and understands and hopefully this is something that serves everyone really well,’ the manager added of his captain.
