Galatasaray poised to make fresh approach for Man City goalkeeper Ederson after first bid was rejected

Galatasaray are expected to renew contact with Manchester City on Monday for goalkeeper Ederson after the Brazilian was left on the bench for Saturday’s defeat by Tottenham.
Ederson’s replacement James Trafford was guilty of an error which led to Spurs’ second on an uncomfortable home debut for the England international.
And City hold interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma should they find agreement to sell Ederson.
Pep Guardiola has spoken consistently about his goalkeepers needing to be brave on the ball but stopped short of saying whether Trafford would remain first choice.
‘Trafford made a good first game,’ Guardiola said of the 22-year-old goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win at Wolves on the opening weekend.
‘I decide [for him] to continue. When I take decisions, normally in the first part of the season, not just for the keeper as the keeper is a special position, of course, to have more consistency in the goal, but for all the players – when you play one or two games, and everybody thinks, “okay, this is the starting line-up, these are the players that are going to play”.
Galatasaray are set to make fresh approach for Man City goalkeeper Ederson on Monday

Ederson has played in 372 games for City but was on the bench for Saturday’s loss to Spurs
‘I learned for many years that with this amount of games, everybody will play.’
Ederson has one year left on contract and Galatasaray’s first offer was around £8.5m which is not considered enough.
They have since enquired about other options but returned to make an offer for City centre back Manuel Akanji which may yet be accepted and plan another offer for Ederson.
Donnarumma, 26, has been lined up should Ederson go but PSG will need to drop their £40m asking price.
The Italy international has been cast aside by Luis Enrique after PSG bought Lucas Chevalier – who is considered better with his feet and distribution.
Meanwhile, City and Tottenham are continuing talks over Brazilian winger Savinho.
Spurs are prepared to offer over £60m for the 21-year old though City value him around £70m.
City are considering Real Madrid’s Rodrygo should Spurs succeed with Savinho.
