Harris Dickinson All But Confirmed Which Actor ‘Humiliated’ Him Early In His Career

Harris Dickinson has all-but named the star he previously claimed “humiliated” him on a film set during his early days as an actor.

The Triangle of Sadness star first made the claims during an interview with The Times in 2023, saying a mystery actor — whom he described as a “wanker” — had “humiliated” him in front of the cast and crew of an unnamed film way back when.

The story goes that the “wanker” in question had initiated a game in which he pretended to be someone on set, with everyone else having to guess who he was.

Dickinson said the game was designed to highlight (and ridicule) his working class background. When the actor was pretending to be Dickinson, he was asked what food and TV show he would be, replying that he was “fish and chips” and “Love Island”.

“It was becoming quite clear that the only person he could’ve been talking about was me,” Dickinson said to The Times. “Fish and chips is a stereotypical working class food [and] Love Island is culturally low.”

Years later, the topic was revisited in a recent interview with The Times, where the interviewer / master of mess ran through a list of names that Dickinson’s fans thought was the “wanker” he mentioned in 2023.

Much to the delight of Harry Potter fans, Dickinson confirmed it was not Ralph Fiennes, whom he worked with on the 2021 movie The King’s Man

“It’s not Ralph. Ralph’s a sweetheart,” Dickinson said. Phew!

With Voldemort out of the way, the interviewer then named actor Robert Lindsay, whom he starred alongside in the 2019 fantasy movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

“Fuck! I’ve been caught,” Dickinson said.

While he never outright confirmed that Lindsay — who is a BAFTA and Tony-winner — was the one who humiliated him, The Times said Dickinson promptly moved on to the next question, so let’s just read between the lines, shall we?

Elsewhere in the interview, Dickinson said he was “a little” apprehensive about taking on his upcoming role in one of four Beatles biopics directed by Sam Mendes

The actor will star as John Lennon, with the remaining bandmates to be portrayed by an assortment of white boys of the month in Paul Mescal (as Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison).

Those films are set to premiere in 2028, but don’t expect Lindsay to be invited to any premieres.
