Iconic Sydney venue Stonewall Hotel has collapsed into administration just months after it was acquired by US hospitality giant

One of Sydney’s most iconic venues has gone into administration just over a week after its new owner announced opened a second location.
The Stonewall Hotel, an beloved fixture of Darlinghurst in the CBD, entered administration on Friday, March 13.
The venue’s new owner, US-based hospitality company, Pride Holdings Group, added the gay bar to its portfolio late 2025.
In January it announced a second Stonewall location would open in Newtown.
The new venue opened on March 8 and its social media was active on Monday night.
However, a notice on ASIC stated the company went under with Mohammad Najjar appointed as its administrator.
A teleconference will be held for the company’s creditors at 11am on March 25.
A notice was taped to the front of The Stonewall to notify its customers of its administration.
