An emergency room nurse has revealed a list of things that she doesn’t allow her kids to do – and one of them may take you by surprise.
Mother of two and content creator Caitlin Armstrong took to her TikTok account to share the list with other parents.
In the video, she explained why she doesn’t let her children do certain things, because of what she has seen in the emergency room as a nurse.
The first activity that she said her kids do not take part in is a common one: sleepovers.
‘I just don’t know that there is really any benefit to a sleepover, especially when your kid comes home over-caffeinated, over-sugared, and overtired,’ Armstrong explained at the beginning of the video, which has garnered more than 698,000 views.
‘Let’s not even get into the rest of the s**t that can happen during a sleepover, which is the ultimate reason why I don’t do it,’ she continued.
The second thing that she never lets her children do is play tackle football.
The sport can cause a lot of injuries in youngsters and has even been linked to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

‘Do I love watching it? One hundred percent,’ Armstrong said. ‘Do I want my kids playing it? Absolutely not.’
‘I think that tackle football has gotten better with its parameters for their helmets and their CTE protocol and all of that stuff,’ she continued.
‘But until you can give me concrete evidence… that spinal cord injuries are reduced, and head injuries are reduced, I’m just not gonna get involved in it.’
The third no-no on her list was letting her kids eat whole grapes for lunch.
She explained that youngsters can easily choke on the fruit.
The nurse said: ‘This is my own personal PTSD, but I’m still cutting my kids’ grapes, and I am still never going to pack them at lunch, because the thought of them eating grapes without me being there is a little scary.
‘I have seen three kids in the ER for choking on grapes, and now I am forever scarred,’ she said.
‘Is it logical? No. Is this what this is supposed to be? No, so back up.’

Last but not least, Armstrong revealed that she will never allow her kids to ride on any type of electric bike or scooter.
‘It’s just a no, period, plain and simple,’ she said.
The ER nurse had several reasons she wouldn’t let her kids use these.
‘It’s probably one of the top three things that land up in the trauma bay that I work in,’ she explained.
‘It’s really actually not the person driving the motorized thing, it is the people on the street,’ the mom continued.
‘When you look at this from a physics standpoint, a car going 50 miles per hour on a road, and scooter going 30 miles per hour on a road, when those two collide, holy s**t,’ she explained.
Armstrong said that she would never buy her kids a motorized scooter or bike, even if they wanted one.
‘One day, my kids will figure out why Santa has never brought them one, and that’s because I’m Santa, and I refuse to,’ she joked at the end of the clip.
In the comments section of her video, which had over 698,000 views, many users seemed to agree with her rules.
‘Registered nurse mom and police officer dad here… we don’t do sleepovers either,’ one person commented.
Another agreed, ‘Retired paramedic here. Totally agree! Every single severe motorcycle accident I went to wasn’t the motorcyclist’s fault but the fault of the vehicle.’
‘Same on every single one. My daughter choked on a grape someone else brought in at school, her teacher had to step in,’ someone else typed.
‘Physical therapist here. No trampolines and I refused to have a diving board installed for our pool,’ one user offered.
