Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, Anjadip represents India’s push toward ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence. Designed for littoral operations, the 77-meter vessel is a high-speed, agile “Dolphin Hunter,” capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralising enemy submarines in coastal waters. The ship is packed with an indigenous, cutting-edge Anti-Submarine Warfare weapons and sensor package, including the Hull Mounted Sonar Abhay, and armed with Lightweight Torpedoes and ASW Rockets.
Beyond submarine warfare, Anjadip can conduct coastal surveillance, low-intensity maritime operations (LIMO), and search & rescue missions, reaching speeds up to 25 knots for rapid response and sustained operations. Named after Anjadip Island near Karwar, the warship strengthens India’s vast maritime security, especially along the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts.
