Inside Donald Trump Jr.’s push to create the ‘Amazon of guns’, shaking up the online firearm purchase game

Donald Trump Jr. and his business partners will soon launch an online firearm store that some have dubbed the ‘Amazon of guns.’
In addition to helping his family run the Trump Organization, the first son is an avid marksman, and his new online venture called GrabAGun aims to make firearms more accessible.
‘There’s a lot of people that are buying guns that wouldn’t have been the typical guys that were buying guns like I’ve been doing for decades,’ Trump Jr. said on CNBC Tuesday morning.
‘There’s women coming into the marketplace for self defense. There’s a younger generation that’s shifting to the conservative side that understands the need to exercise their Second Amendment, and wants to do that.’
‘This is giving them an opportunity with “grab a gun” to shop the way they shop virtually everything else,’ he continued.
Guns purchased from the online store still have to be picked up from an authorized and licensed retailer, the 47-year-old explained, noting that routine background checks and all lawful safety precautions are still followed.
The real value, Trump Jr. says, is restoring access to firearms that have been put out of reach for customers.
‘Walmart used to be the largest retailer of firearms in America. Corporate policies change, you can no longer have that access. You couldn’t go to your local Walmart and buy these things anymore. So this is covering that void,’ he said.

The company announced a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) helmed by conservative investor Omeed Malik, who joined Trump Jr. on CNBC.
Malik has invested in former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s media startup and the ‘anti-woke’ online marketplace Public Square, along with other right-leaning ventures through his firm 1789 Capital.
The investor and first son, along with GrabAGun CEO Marc Nemat, have pitched their company as the ‘Amazon of guns.’
Though firearms would first be sent to a dealer authorized under the proper Federal Firearms Licenses, accessories and other products will be directly shipped to consumers’ homes.
The online platform lets users ‘buy guns and ammunition online just like you can on Amazon because we have a Second Amendment right,’ Malik has said.
The website currently features a variety of small arms, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, scopes, magazines and more.
It also sells fishing, hunting and camping equipment along with knives, tents, sleeping bags and archery supplies.
When the company goes public Trump Jr. will sit on its board, in addition to gun influencer and attorney Colion Noir.

Trump Jr. said that when customers go to pick up their orders at local gun stores or other authorized locations users opt to bundle firearm training with their purchase.
‘But again, through that you are actually going to that shop, you can learn about the training that they offer, which we encourage. So I definitely encourage everyone to get those kinds of trainings. I think it should be a package.’
Malik and Trump Jr. have also announced a partnership on a new social club meant for Washington, D.C., socialites.
Called the Executive Brach, the social club will be only for the city’s wealthiest, charging a $500,000 membership fee.
