Internet is left STUNNED by rescue kitten’s bizarre feature as owner insists it’s 100 percent natural

A cat’s remarkably long tail has left the internet in such disbelief that people are going so far as accusing the owner of photoshop trickery.

A woman who goes by @MeowntyPython on Reddit posted some photos of a six-month-old, five-pound kitten that she had found to the platform earlier this month, while sharing her own shock at how lengthy the feline’s tail was.

She exclaimed that it was the longest tail she had ever seen on a cat, adding, ‘His tail is approximately the length of my arm from elbow to fingertip!’

Receiving over 42,000 upvotes and 737 comments, the post quickly went viral, and many users couldn’t believe their eyes.

The owner, who asked to remain anonymous, told Newsweek that she had found the kitten scavenging the streets of her neighborhood.

She believed the feline had been abandoned since she couldn’t see a microchip or any signs of prior ownership, so she decided to bring him in as a foster.

The kitten, who she has now named Xûr, has been living in her living room for the past couple weeks.

Naturally timid, Xûr’s owner said he is still finding his feet at the moment and scarcely emerges from underneath the sofa.

However when he does, it unmistakably clear thanks to the sheer length of his tail.

Many users on Reddit were skeptical, and wondered if the picture had been altered in the comment section of her post.

‘[Gonna] need pictures from multiple angles or a video to believe this one,’ one replied.

Another user followed suit, writing: ‘I refuse to believe it’s real.’

‘Take a picture with a tape measure up against the tail. Or just admit this is bulls**t,’ said someone else.

The owner also shared a montage of videos in a separate post to give users a better look at its massive tail.

While she originally estimated that Xûr’s tail was ‘approximately the length of her arm from elbow to fingertip,’ she told Newsweek that might have been a slight exaggeration and that a more accurate comparison would be from her elbow to her wrist.

After an influx of requests for more evidence, the owner relayed that she conveniently cannot capture any more pictures or measure it with a ruler because despite endless coaxing, the cat has since gone back into hiding.

Experts from PetCare share that the average the cat tail varies between breeds, ranging anywhere from nine to 12 inches.

Xûr’s tail doesn’t seem to be limiting him, as the owner deemed him as a completely healthy cat and said she’s on the hunt for a permanent residence for him.

While the kitten’s tail is certainly impressive, it doesn’t seem to hold a candle to the existing record for a domestic cat.

According to the Guinness book of world records, the record for the longest tail stands at a whopping 18.5 inches.
