Is this the perfect home? Aussies gush over ‘impossibly beautiful’ hinterland retreat in Ridgewood, Queensland

A beautiful hinterland property in Queensland has been dubbed the ‘perfect home’ thanks to its spectacular outlook, welcoming interior and ‘cosy character’.

Briallyn Estate, a ‘rural sanctuary’ nestled in the heart of Noosa Shire on the Sunshine Coast, sits on a whopping 76.9 hectares and includes the main house plus two guest cottages.

Just 10 minutes from the town of Cooroy and 25 minutes from the Noosa River, the property is framed by a pristine forest, a flowing creek and farmland with eight dams and 13 fenced paddocks.

The estate also includes equestrian facilities with fully decked-out stable complex and a full exercise arena, botanical gardens, a flourishing orchard, veggie beds and a secure chook house with external egg access.

Yet, it’s the main residence that truly steals the show. Hundreds of admirers have fallen for its inviting, characterful design, sparkling pool, and expansive decking – described by many as a ‘slice of heaven’.

‘If only I could win first division I wouldn’t even think twice. Oh my god that is a dream… a dream beyond dreams, it is so, so beautiful,’ one interior enthusiast wrote, pointing to the property’s $4.5million price guide.

‘My legitimate dream,’ echoed another.

‘Looks like something out of a fairytale. Sign me up.’

While the price sits well above Ridgewood’s median of $1.3million, most agreed the extraordinary property is worth it, especially for those pursuing boutique accommodation or farming.

‘The home was completed around 24 years ago, and the design and construction were a “labour of love” over several years,’ Villa Real Estate’s Graham Smith told the Daily Mail.

‘The owners have thoroughly enjoyed farming the 200 acres and have run droughtmaster cattle and bred Arab horses that have competed internationally in Equine Endurance Events.

‘They have now downsized to a smaller farm just west of Cooroy.’

Those who visit the charming property access via a private tree-lined driveway, where they are welcomed through stone gates past flowering gardens and rustic outbuildings.

‘The stonework, a real feature of the home, was quarried in Gympie, and 900 tonnes of the stone have been used in the main residence and the cottages,’ Mr Smith said.

It can be seen throughout the cathedral-style living space, which boasts eight-metre ceilings, an open fireplace and panoramic rural views.
