Jennifer Lopez marks twins’ 18th birthday with emotional home video: ‘It’s always been the three of us’
Jennifer Lopez is celebrating a major milestone for her twins, Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian David Muñiz, who officially turned 18 on Sunday.
The singer and actress shared a deeply personal video montage on Instagram to mark the occasion, featuring tender moments from the twins’ lives, from newborn cuddles and childhood snapshots to recent clips of family time, baking together and arcade outings.
The video was paired with a sweeping, emotional caption reflecting on the night they were born and the bond the trio has shared ever since.
‘You were born in the middle of the night, in the midst of the biggest, most beautiful snowstorm NY had seen in years!!’ Lopez wrote, recalling the moment she was headed to the hospital. ‘It was as if God was making sure you would enter a world full of pure magic!! In my heart, I knew that’s how your life would always be!!’
Lopez went on to describe holding her newborns for the first time, writing that she felt like she was ‘holding two angels sent straight from heaven above,’ adding that her life was ‘changed forever.’
Now, she said, it’s hard to believe they’ve reached adulthood.

‘I cannot believe you are now adults…18 years old!’ she continued. ‘You are both so kind-hearted, generous, and loving. How lucky the world was on this day 18 years ago when God decided to send you here.’
The proud mom emphasized the close bond she shares with her children, affectionately calling them her ‘coconuts,’ and reflecting on how it has ‘always been the three of us.’
‘We have been on this journey together,’ Lopez wrote. ‘We have always had each other to hold on to and be that steady presence in the middle of any snowstorm. And I promise you…no matter how big you get, that’s how it will always be.’
She ended the message with personal notes to each twin, writing, ‘Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine…and Max, you’re amazing just the way you are!!’ before closing with, ‘Happy 18th Birthday, my wonder twins!!!’
Lopez has previously opened up about this transitional moment in her family’s life.
In October, she revealed during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark that she and the twins had begun touring colleges.
‘They’re 17! Can you believe that?’ she said at the time. ‘We’re visiting colleges today…It’s happening – they’re leaving, they’re going, and it’s crazy.’
While Lopez admitted the idea of being on her own felt daunting, she said she’s focused on making sure her children always feel connected to home.

Lopez welcomed her twins with then-husband, singer Marc Anthony.
Anthony is currently expecting his eighth child. His wife, Nadia Ferreira, whom he already has a child with: son Marco, aged two, recently announced her pregnancy.

In June of 1994, he welcomed his first child, a daughter named Arianna, with then-girlfriend Debbie Rosado.
They also adopted a son together, Chase, who was born in 1995.
In February of 2001, he welcomed a son named Cristian Marcus Muñiz with former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, his first wife.
And then they welcomed their second son, Ryan Adrian Muñiz, in August of 2003.
