Jessi Draper’s Husband Jordan Ngatikaura Files For Divorce And Seeks Restraining Order Amid Mormon Wives Drama

Jessi Draper’s husband Jordan Ngatikaura has taken another legal step in the breakdown of their marriage, seeking a temporary restraining order (TRO) less than a week after filing for divorce. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives couple are in the middle of an already highly public split that’s now moved even further into the courts.
According to court documents, Jordan filed for a temporary restraining order on March 20 in the same Utah case where he is petitioning to end the marriage. Jessi filed an opposition to the TRO that very day, and no specific allegations from either side have been publicly detailed at this stage. Representatives for Draper have declined to comment, with her lawyers telling E! News they are “ethically prohibited from discussing any pending litigation at this time”, while Jordan has not yet responded to media requests.
The restraining order move comes shortly after Jordan filed divorce papers on March 19, ending over five years of marriage. “This has not been an easy decision and it comes with a heavy heart,” he said in a statement, adding that he was “grateful for the shared memories and the lessons”.
He also stressed that his “priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition”, and that he is “committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect”, before asking for “privacy and understanding” for the family.
Jessi and Jordan married in October 2020 after getting engaged earlier that year, and share son Jagger and daughter Jovi together, while Jordan is also dad to daughter Peyton from a previous relationship. Their marriage has been a key storyline on the current fourth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. We’ve seen them navigating intense arguments, nights spent apart and Jessi resuming use of her maiden name, a choice Jordan labeled “selfish” on camera.
Jessi also discovered her prenuptial agreement was not properly completed and told her castmates she could lose “millions” if they did divorce.
The reality star said on the show that Jordan was “a hard person to be married to” and would be a “harder person to divorce”.
Jessi has said she hopes that sharing their difficulties on camera can resonate with others. She told PEOPLE earlier in the month she believes it is “normal” for marriages to have rough patches and that she wanted to show that “marriage is hard, relationships are hard, and it’s normal to struggle”, adding that “even in a good relationship, you’re gonna have ups and downs” and that it can still be “worth fighting for” and “worth working through”.
Jessi is not the only Secret Lives of Mormon Wives castmate to be facing a legal situation at the moment, with Taylor Frankie Paul in an open “domestic assault investigation” involving her ex‑boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. Draper City Police Department have said “allegations have been made in both directions” after officers contacted both parties in late February.
Taylor, who previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault in connection with a 2023 incident involving Mortensen, is again under scrutiny as police review the more recent case, which has also paused production on the next season of the show.
