Jessica Simpson now KEEPING $18million marital home she was trying to sell… as ex Eric Johnson moves nearby

Jessica Simpson has reportedly decided to keep the $17.9 million Los Angeles mansion she lived in with her ex-husband, Eric Johnson.
The seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom estate is located in the Hidden Hills area of Calabasas, best known for residents like Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian.
Simpson acquired the property in 2013 – the year before she married Johnson – when she purchased it from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne for $11.5 million.
She first put the house up for sale in September 2023 at an asking price of $22 million, only to pull it from the market the following August.
After being evacuated from the house amid the Los Angeles fires last year, she placed the property back on the market on January 11, 2025 – just two days before she announced she and Johnson were divorcing.
She took the sprawling spread off the market in November and then re-listed it in December before now deciding she intends to stay there, insiders informed TMZ.

Sources allege that Johnson – with whom Simpson co-parents three children, Maxi, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, nine – has acquired his own house nearby.
However, another source told People that the two ‘are still living together’ for the time being and ‘working on selling the house’ as they ‘figure out the best path forward.’
The insider added that Johnson is not living in a nearby home at the moment, but ‘that is what the plan is.’
Simpson announced her separation from Johnson last year in a statement explaining that they had been ‘navigating a painful situation in our marriage,’ adding: ‘Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them.’
A conjecture had been swirling for months that the marriage was on the verge of collapse, particularly because they had not been seen together since June 2024.
She did not publicly wish Johnson on his 45th birthday that September, despite having penned a glowing Instagram tribute to him after he turned 44.
Instead, on Johnson’s 45th birthday last month, Simpson cryptically reposted a clip of Pastor Timothy Timberlake delivering a speech about forgiveness.
‘Forgiveness doesn’t change the person who hurt you. Are you listening to me? Forgiveness doesn’t change that person. Forgiveness changes you,’ he said.
‘Guess what forgiveness does not do? Forgiveness does not mean you forget. One of the most crazy theories is that you forgive and forget. You don’t forget, but you do have the opportunity to forgive every time you remember.’
In 2023 – the year she first listed the Calabasas mansion she has now reportedly decided to keep – Simpson moved to Nashville part-time.

She relocated to the country music capital in order to work on new songs, after not releasing an album since the 2010 record Happy Christmas.
Although her husband and children were able to spend the summer of 2023 with her in Nashville, they eventually returned to Los Angeles because of school, while Simpson divided her time between the two cities.
‘They helped me find a house [in Nashville], we all moved there, they picked their rooms, that type of stuff, but they’re in school so I have two weeks [in Nashville], two weeks home,’ she explained to People. ‘I’m back and forth a lot so now they know what it’s like to miss me and I feel very loved.’
Before she was with Johnson, Simpson had a troubled marriage to fellow singer Nick Lachey, whom she wed in 2002 and then divorced four years later.
Lachey reportedly got $12 million from Simpson in the divorce, as she had not had the presence of mind to get a prenuptial agreement.
A decade later, Simpson was asked about the biggest financial mistakes she had made and replied: ‘For some reason, I thought of my first marriage,’ on CNBC.
He has gone on to marry Vanessa Minnillo, whom he was infamously snapped getting intimate with in a hot tub in Mexico while they were dating.
