
More than 25 years after he made Jackass a worldwide phenomenon, Johnny Knoxville is ready to hang up his helmet.
The co-creator of the MTV reality stunt show franchise, who announced a new Jackass movie will premiere in theaters on June 26, recently revealed that the fifth installment “will be the last one,” after launching the original series in 2000.
“This is the natural place to end,” Knoxville told Rolling Stone. “So it’s going to be absolutely awful.
When the interviewer wished him her best on Jackass 5Knoxville quipped, “You hope it doesn’t go well at all! Should be a f*cking train wreck. That’s what you should hope for. I think we designed it that way.”
Last month, Knoxville announced on social media that another Jackass movie is coming soon to theaters this summer.

“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th,” he wrote. “More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!”
Co-created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Knoxville, Jackass ran for three seasons on MTV from 2000 to 2001, sparking multiple movie spin-offs over the years.
