Josh Allen suffers worrying injury scare in Bills’ wild-card game as he goes down clutching his knee in agony

After being checked for a concussion earlier Sunday’s wild-card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, battered Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen appeared to suffer a knee injury before returning in the second quarter.
The NFL’s reigning MVP hobbled to the sideline after scoring Buffalo’s first touchdown of the day. Allen just barely broke into the end zone before stumbling over a lineman’s leg and bending his knee awkwardly as he came crashing down onto the Jacksonville turf.
Allen was in obvious pain as he hobbled off the field, only to return for Buffalo’s subsequent possession.
Team doctors cleared Allen of a concussion earlier in the game, and he was also seen grimacing in pain after bringing his throwing hand down on a teammate’s helmet.
Adding to his anguish, Allen entered Sunday with a right foot issue he’s been dealing with for several weeks.
Despite the ever-present injury risks, Allen was sharp in the first half, completing 14 of 17 passes for 129 yards while avoiding any sacks.

His counterpart, Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence, struggled. The 26-year-old Clemson product completed just 9 of his first 15 passes for 88 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Lawrence had Jacksonville in position for a last-second field goal before halftime, but kicker Cameron Little’s 54-yard attempt sailed wide.
