Kai Trump has announced on Instagram that she has had surgery on her left wrist.
She posted: ‘Today, I underwent left wrist surgery to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my triangular fibrocartilage complex.
‘The surgery was successfully performed at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics.
‘I look forward to my rehab ahead in the coming months. I am excited for the ability to play golf pain free!’
The update comes ahead of a what promises to be a big year on the golf course for the 18-year-old granddaughter of President Trump.
Kai will be joining the University of Miami as a part of the 2026 signing class to play collegiate golf after committing to the school in August.

The 18-year-old granddaughter of President Trump will start playing collegiate golf this year
Earlier this month, Trump postage footage of her spending some time with Masters champion Rory McIlroy on the driving range.
The 18-year-old was filming as the Masters champion ripped a drive on the range before sharing a picture of herself alongside only the sixth man to complete golf’s Grand Slam.
McIlroy, of course, isn’t the only golfer whose expertise the teenager is able to tap into. Her mother, Vanessa, is dating Tiger Woods – their relationship was exclusively revealed by the Daily Mail back in March.
Kai also recently appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast and gave a wide-ranging interview on Kamala Harris, her dating life and politics being ‘dangerous’.
Speaking on her personal life, she admitted that having a security team follow her around 24/7 has made a traditional teenage upbringing difficult.
On the Impaulsive podcast, hosted by Logan Paul, she said: ‘To be honest with you, it’s really awkward when you’re sitting and going on a date with a guy and they’re two tables behind you.
‘It’s a little weird. I try my best not to let it bother me. Especially the past year, since he’s become President, I’ve had to learn that, yes, they’re following me, but also to focus in pretending that they’re not there.
‘Obviously, they are there. But if you can try to not really focus on that and enjoy your time with your friends, your family or whatever it is – it makes it easier.
‘Because for the first few months, it was tough. It was not easy having someone following you all the time. But once I was like: “Their only job is to protect me. I’m going to focus on my stuff and have them do their job”. It made it so much easier.’
Elsewhere on the podcast, the 18-year-old seemingly extended an olive branch to Trump’s former rival Kamala Harris and said there is no ‘bad blood’ between them.
When asked by WWE star Paul about her opinions on Harris, she said: ‘To be honest with you, I stay out of politics completely. Like, I would never run and I don’t want anything to do with politics.
‘I feel like politics is such a dangerous thing and I think if both sides met in the middle everyone would be so much more happier and I think there’s radical left, there’s radical right and there’s a lot of people who get too extreme.
Kai, a budding golfer, will be joining the University of Miami as a part of the 2026 signing class
Kai, 18, recently pulled back the curtain on life as the granddaughter of the President
‘And that’s where social media really ties into it because social media kind of makes your Instagram or your feed be one way or the other and there’s not a lot of things on social media if you’re very much in the middle.
‘I think that kind of makes some people crazy and some people buy into it too much. I think that’s like the best way to say it. There’s no bad blood. I’m very much in the middle. It is what it is, they ran against each other.’
Finally, the budding golfer ended by offering an insight into Trump’s presidential future, as podcast host Paul pressed her on the possibility of her grandfather standing for a third term.
The teenager admitted that he has no plans to run again but left the door open by admitting ‘a lot could happen until 2028’.
She said: ‘He’s not running for a third term. Sadly not. But who knows? A lot could happen until 2028’.
