Karoline Leavitt flaunts baby bump as she prepares to welcome second child with husband 32 years her senior

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been showing off her growing baby bump just a few weeks after she announced that she was expecting her second child – a daughter – with 60-year-old husband Nicholas Riccio.
In a new photo posted to her Instagram story on Monday night, Leavitt posed alongside President Donald Trump’s Special Assistant and Communications Advisor, Margo Martin, as they twinned in maroon-colored outfits.
Leavitt, 28, cradled her baby bump as she wore a long-sleeved, burgundy sweater with a cream ruffle at the hem, along with matching, dark-colored flared pants.
She wrapped her hands around the growing bump as she smiled standing next to Martin, who was wearing belted, burgundy-colored flare pants and a matching, form-fitting, crewneck long-sleeved sweater.
‘Matching today with Margo Martin,’ Leavitt wrote in the caption of the photo, adding in the ‘twin’ emoji next to it.
The photo comes nearly one month after Leavitt revealed that she is expecting her second child, due in May 2026.
Leavitt already shares son Nicholas ‘Niko’ Robert Riccio, one, with her husband.
The 28-year-old made the announcement in an Instagram post just one day after Christmas, standing in front of the tree as she showed off her growing belly in a white bodycon dress.

‘The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for – a baby girl coming in May 2026,’ Leavitt wrote in the caption of the post.
‘My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother. My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth,’ her message continued.
She also gave a shout-out to both President Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in her announcement, thanking them for creating a ‘pro-family’ environment at work.
‘I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House,’ Leavitt typed.
‘2026 is going to be a great year and I am so excited to be a girl mom!’ she concluded.
So far, Leavitt has dressed up this pregnancy by wearing long statement jackets and colorful blazers.
Previously, she spoke to The Conservateur about balancing her demanding job with raising her son in a rare 2024 interview.
Leavitt notoriously came back to work just a few days after she gave birth to Niko in July, after President Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

‘I felt compelled to be present in this historic moment,’ she explained to the outlet.
‘The President literally put his life on the line to win this election. The least I could do is get back to work quickly,’ she said.
At the time, Leavitt was the national press secretary for Trump’s presidential campaign, even working up until the last days of her pregnancy.
She told the outlet that their campaign headquarters at the time, in Palm Beach, was a very welcoming environment for working parents.
‘We have a really welcoming environment for children at the office, the headquarters in West Palm Beach,’ Leavitt shared.
‘You know, we joke that on Saturdays, it’s bring-your-kid-to-work day,’ she said, as both Danielle Alvarez, who was a senior adviser to the campaign, and Sonny Joy Nelson, who was the director of media bookings, also had young children.
‘Sonny and I will be on the phone with one another late at night or early in the morning,’ Leavitt recalled.
‘Her baby’s crying. My baby’s crying. We’re working together through the chaos. And it’s a crazy but very rewarding thing all at the same time.’
Since becoming the face of the White House this year, Leavitt’s marriage to Riccio, a real estate developer, has raised eyebrows due to their 32-year age gap
In March, Leavitt admitted they have a ‘very atypical love story,’ and said they first met when she unsuccessfully ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022
However, although she said she loves working for Trump, the 28-year-old admitted at the time that it was hard to leave her son at home some days.
‘Leaving the baby every day to go to work, it does break your heart,’ Leavitt confessed.
‘It’s incredibly challenging emotionally, physically, spiritually.’
Leavitt told the outlet that she hopes the one value her son learns from her is the importance of having ‘confidence.’

‘A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,’ Leavitt told Megyn Kelly at the time.
‘I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.’
