It’s been a long winter, which is presumably why guests at the Chloe show in Paris today lost no time in ditching the heavy, dark-hued garb they’ve lived in over the winter months for lighter, brighter outfits that signalled spring.
In some cases, they signalled ‘bedtime’.
Singer Olivia Rodrigo, 23, arrived in a long blush pink slip dress trimmed with lace, while TV presenter Alexa Chung, 42, wore a lingerie-inspired dress in the same shade.
Actress Brooke Shields, 60, also opted for blush pink, in a ruched skirt with an asymmetric hem worn with a capacious beige jacket.
Model Paris Jackson, 27, the only daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, also opted for the delicate hue.
Other guests nodded to springtime by wearing florals, including actress Dree Hemingway, 38.
But for some guests, the old Scots adage ‘ne’er cast a clout till May is oot’ clearly rang true.
Those opting for warmer layers included White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood, 32, in a short black trench coat, and singer Mabel, 30, in a brown leather blouson.

Oprah Winfrey, 72, meanwhile, hedged her bets in a cropped suede jacket in a pale caramel hue.
Much like the guests’ attire, the Chloe show was one of contrasts.
Designer Chemena Kamali, 45, likes to offset utilitarian fabrics such as leather and suede with lighter, dressier fabrics including satin, lace, parachute silk and chiffon.
For autumn/winter 2026, Chloe’s signature volume came courtesy of flouncy chiffon dresses and skirts in a selection of plaid prints that nodded to the divisive 90s grunge era.
They were toughened up with leather thigh-high boots and platform clogs, and worn with outerwear that ran the gamut from tailored blazers to XXL quilted capes.
Fashion fans without the confidence – or access to fat jabs – to embrace next season’s bodycon trend will find welcome relief in the Chloe collection’s forgiving surfeit of fabric.
