Activist and outside Trump adviser Laura Loomer is calling on the president and his administration to crack down on fellow right-wing media personality Tucker Carlson, amid her ongoing feud with the former Fox News host over his views on Israel.
“Everybody needs to be pressuring the White House to issue a statement condemning Tucker Carlson this week,” Loomer wrote on X on Monday. “His efforts to derail the GOP and his nonstop sabotage of President Trump must end.”
Loomer also claimed Carlson, who has opposed U.S.-backed efforts to battle with Iran, is lobbying for the country and called on the attorney general to force him to register under a lobbying law, the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
“Tucker attempting to lobby for Iran at the White House!!!!” Loomer wrote. “When will Pam Bondi force Tucker to register with FARA???? How is this not a national security threat?”
Elsewhere in the flurry of messages, Loomer claimed Carlson was spreading “poisonous Jew hatred” and mocked the host as “Tucker Qatarlson,” following his recent visit to the Gulf nation.
The Independent has contacted the White House, the Justice Department, and Carlson for comment.
Loomer’s outrage comes the same day that Carlson was reportedly visiting the White House, according to Punchbowl News.
At the weekend, Carlson angered portions of the MAGA movement over a highly adversarial interview with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
During the interview, Carlson, who has been critical of U.S. support for Israel and the war in Gaza, pressed Huckabee about why the U.S. was supporting its longtime ally. He also questioned Jewish Israelis’ claims to sovereignty over Israel, given that many modern Jewish residents descend from people who immigrated to the land from Europe during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The interview further exacerbated a growing split on the on the right surrounding Israel. Some claim embracing Trump’s MAGA principles means focusing on a more isolationist U.S. foreign policy and cutting ties with Israel, while others charge that figures like Carlson have veered into antisemitism amid their criticism of Israel.
In the Huckabee interview, Carlson claimed to “hate antisemitism” and said he wishes “no harm” to Israel.
In recent months, Carlson’s show has interviewed a variety of far-right figures including Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.
Trump has reportedly been urging Carlson since January to end his feud with the pro-Israel wing of the MAGA movement.
The Huckabee interview also generated other major news.
During the conversation, the Trump official said he would be “fine” if Israel took over more nearby territory, angering regional diplomats.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Fuad al-Majali, told The Washington Post the comments were “an assault on the sovereignty of the countries of the region, and a flagrant breach of international law.”
The wrangling over Trump’s Middle East policy comes as the U.S. military is ramping up preparations for a potential attack on Iran to force it to give up its nuclear program, while negotiators from the U.S. and Iran will meet Thursday in Geneva.
