The Arab Defense website, May 11, 2025: Although Washington announced its success in reaching a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, the roots of tension have not been uprooted yet, especially in light of the complexities of geography and intertwined regional influence. The calm does not mean the end of the conflict, but it may mean a temporary break in a longer battle.
At the heart of this geopolitical conflict is the region of Jammu and Kashmir, the disputed region between India, Pakistan and China. The red line on the map represents the boundaries between the Pakistani part and the Indian part of Kashmir, while China maintains its control over a strategic point in the same region. To the East, another border dispute appears between India and China in the Axay Chen region, directly adjacent to the Indian Kashmir. This Chinese presence is not limited to the ground, but extends to the qualitative military support of Pakistan, as part of a strategic message that Beijing is able to compete with Western armament domination.
