In an extremely rare tune, it appears that Married At First Sight (MAFS) fans are gushing over Steven Danyluk‘s family and their adorable dinner during this year’s homestays.
This article contains Married At First Sight 2026 spoilers. You can choose to stay or leave.
Look, we rarely get a positive reaction to something when it comes to MAFS, so when it comes, we do our best to champion all the happiness that this show has!
Kicking off this year’s MAFS Homestays, we get to see Rachel Gilmore enter Steven’s world. Their romantic getaway kicks off to a great start with Steven taking his beloved to HIS fishing spot (a huge step in their relationship IMO), followed by a family dinner with his family, whom she’s met earlier in the season.
But unlike their first family dinner, it’s clear that both Rachel and Steven’s relationship has progressed, as noted by Steven’s brother, Dylan, who previously highlighted his younger brother’s struggle with intimacy.
“I am a very affectionate person, but now I’ve noticed his hand will come wandering for mine. He’ll come to me for a hug, and all these little things. It’s nice,” Rachel shared to the approval of Steven’s family.

Honestly, it’s a breath of fresh air considering the negative juju surrounding Gia Fleur and Scott McCristal‘s homestays, in which the polarising bride picked apart Scott’s home and made a joke about his dead uncle, who, unfortunately, gave Scott a plant that died.

Anyways, back to the wholesomeness, it was evident that Steven’s family welcomed Rachel with open arms, with his sister-in-law Bianca describing the mini shindig as “great”.
“They complement each other. They bring different things to the table. I definitely think Rachel has had a positive effect on Steven’s life,” Bianca added.
Ahhhh, finally. A dinner without screenshots, yelling, and someone walking away in tears.
Married At First Sight fans praise Steven’s family during homestays
Finally bringing some wholesomeness to the series, fans praised Steven’s family, as well as the couple, for the lovely dinner party we needed after weeks upon weeks of boiling drama.
Some fans have even declared the duo as the “strongest” remaining couple.
Look, after Intimacy Week and fingerb*ng gate alongside unrelated drama, like the screenshot saga, this is just the cup of goodness and softness we need — alongside the Gia and Scott tea.
A bit of yin and a bit of yang. We love to see it.
