MAFS Star Who Got Dumped From The Traitors S3 Reveals What’s Going On Behind The Scenes
Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan, who appeared on season five of the reality show, has spilled bulk tea after claiming he was dropped from the cast of the upcoming third season of The Traitors Australia.

The rumour mill has been positively aflutter as to the details of the celebrity edition of The Traitors, which is said to be currently filming in New Zealand with Gretel Killeen confirmed as host. While we’ve gotten extra details like the rumoured cast and their supposed salaries (hint: it’s measly), Sultan has now come forward with a bucketload of extra tea.
Some MAFS stars were unable to join the cast of The Traitors Australia
Sultan told PEDESTRIAN.TV he was approached by producers to join The Traitors’ third season but was ultimately dropped ahead of filming due to a “conflict of interest”, since producers were also eyeing some of his MAFS “peers”.
“I got an email saying, ‘sorry, we love Nasser, but unfortunately he didn’t make it this time, we’re going for his peers’. There was some conflict of interest. I think some people said, ‘no, I don’t want to be with him on the show’,” Sultan claimed.
“So they went for the D-graders,” he added.
Casting producers also apparently approached stars from the most recent 12th season of MAFS, including Jamie Marinos, but were unable to lock them in because “they’re still under contract” with Channel 9, Sultan claimed.
Other reality stars were approached for the cast of The Traitors Australia
While some recent MAFS stars won’t be heading to The Traitors mansion, Sultan said casting producers did eye other stars from past instalments of the show, including season nine’s Ella Ding.
In the broader reality universe, Sultan said producers “approached people from The Bachelor [and] Love Island”, but he did not name any names. The only castmate he said was a sure thing was Real Housewives of Sydney star Krissy Marsh, who was rumoured to be heading to The Traitors mansion earlier this month.
The casting process for The Traitors was “loose”
Behind the scenes, Sultan claimed the process of getting cast on The Traitors was “loose”.
“It’s really loose. There’s no formality, it’s just a Zoom call and that’s about it. Then they put it towards a panel, and the panel decides on who’s in and who’s not, but I think there’s a bit of a conflict of interest,” Sultan said.
The reality star claimed he was also approached “twice” to join the cast of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, as well as Big Brother, before both those plans fell through.
What will happen on The Traitors season three?
Like seasons past, the new instalment of the Mafia-style show will task a group of contestants with assembling ‘Faithfuls’ and weeding-out ‘Traitors’ for a prize pool of up to $250,000, but Sultan was light on details about whether any drama has ensued among the cast.
“They’re filming right now in New Zealand. There’s no drama yet, but I will fucking find out, don’t you worry about that,” he said.
Who is Sultan’s pick for a castmate that would’ve caused drama, you ask? Well, himself. As well MAFS season six star, Cyrell Paule.
“Imagine me and her. That would be explosive,” Sultan said. “I’d watch that.”
A release date for The Traitors season three has not yet been announced, with the only official news we’ve gotten being that Killeen will host.
In the meantime, expect the rumour mill to continue churning ahead of what’s shaping up to be a surprisingly juicy entry into Australia’s reality TV universe.
