
Shots were fired at a Louisiana Mardi Gras parade, leaving one six-year-old child in critical condition and five others injured.
The shooting took place outside of East Feliciana Parish Courthouse in Clinton on Saturday around 12.20pm, WBRZ reported.
The town had reportedly just started its 21st annual Country Parade.
The sheriff’s office told WAFB that the fanfare was immediately shut down.
There is at least one suspect in custody.
Clinton is located more than 100 miles north of New Orleans.
One paradegoer took a video of herself enjoying the parade. Several rounds of gunshots were heard as she screamed and ran for cover.
