Margot Robbie risks a wardrobe malfunction in a cleavage-baring thigh-split dress as she heads to her movie premiere in New York

Margot Robbie left little to the imagination as she headed to the New York premiere of her new film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, on Monday.

The actress, 35, flaunted her toned physique as she stepped out in a cleavage-baring thigh-split dress – less than a year after welcoming her first child.

Margot risked a wardrobe malfunction in the revealing frock which featured a corset bodice and flowing, cut-out bottom.

The Barbie star accessorised her daring look with a pair of black strappy heels and silver statement earrings.

She tied her curled blonde locks into a bun and flashed a radiant smile as she made her way to the New York premiere.

Margot plays the lead role in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey alongside her co-star Colin Farrell.

The movie tells the story of Sarah (Margot) and David (Colin), who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and are soon swept up in an otherworldly adventure to relive their past milestone moments together.

They discover a strange door in the woods that is somehow a portal to their pasts, as they relive their core memories together, like David’s unrequited love and Sarah’s mother dying.

The film also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Billy Magnussen and Jodie Turner-Smith, and will be released in Australian cinemas on September 18.

The romantic fantasy flick is set for release in the US and UK on September 19, and has already been showered with praise from fans after the first footage was released, with some even calling it the ‘movie of the year’.

Sony Pictures released the first trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey in June, which begins with David and Sarah first meeting somewhere, seemingly on vacation, as they both confirm they’re there alone.

David thinks that the most beautiful places make you feel the most alone, as Sarah retorts: ‘Maybe it just depends on the person you’re with.’

The computer in David’s car asks him if he wants to go on a big, bold, beautiful journey, as it leads him back to Sarah, whose car has broken down.

They’re directed into the woods, where they find a door that leads to David’s high school, as he watches his 15-year-old self tell the girl he has a crush on that he loves her, only to find out she doesn’t love him back.

Sarah finds a door that leads to her dying mother as both she and David start to re-live aspects of their lives together.

The trailer ends with David stating: ‘No matter who you are in your life, you just need someone to share it with.’

Margot has been very busy despite sensationally announcing in 2023 that she would be stepping back from acting for a stint.

The Suicide Squad alum previously said she was planning on hitting the brakes following the success of her lead role in Barbie.

Speaking to Deadline, she said she intended to work off-screen after years of building her acting portfolio.

She added that she wanted to take a break from starring in movies as she thinks everyone is ‘sick’ of seeing her after her role in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster.

‘I also think everyone’s probably sick of the sight of me for now. I should probably disappear from screens for a while,’ she said.

‘Honestly, if I did another movie too soon, people would say, “Her again? We just did a whole summer with her. We’re over it.” I don’t know what I’ll do next, but I hope it’s a little while away.’

Margot’s return to the limelight and acting also comes less than a year after she took time off and gave birth to her son.

Opening up about motherhood, she previously said: ‘It’s like, [when] you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it, and if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear.’

She added: ‘So, it’s kind of like, “It’s the best,” you know?’
