With new rules in place, rogue contestants refusing to play by the book, and producers scrambling behind the scenes to keep filming on track, Channel Nine is bracing for what one insider dubbed ‘an uncontrollable wildfire of a season’. 

From diva brides being forced to humble themselves to one groom caught on a dating app mid-filming, Daily Mail can reveal everything you need to know before the season premieres.

Season 13 is set to break new ground in 2026 with the introduction of a pansexual bride, the first we’ve seen since Mishel Karen, who appeared on the show in 2020.

The bride, described by insiders as a ‘girl’s girl,’ has made it clear she isn’t interested in putting a label on herself – but her openness about her sexuality is expected to spark fireworks.

The revelation quickly becomes a sticking point in her relationship.

‘Her groom doesn’t quite know how to take it, and things get heated,’ one well-placed insider told Daily Mail.

‘It ends up being the focus of a major argument between the newlyweds and the tension spills over to the rest of the cast at dinner parties.’

The confident bride is said to have brushed off any attempts to define her sexuality.

‘She says, ”I am who I am, and I don’t care what you call it,” the insider added.

‘She’s fun, unapologetic and loves other women, but doesn’t feel she has to box herself in when it comes to attraction.’

The upcoming series will also include same-sex couple Sam Stanton and Chris Robinson.

Next year’s dinner parties and commitment ceremonies will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. 

One dinner party reportedly ended after just two hours following a meltdown so shocking that producers were forced to pull the cast apart mid-filming.

‘The experts and crew were speechless. They had no idea how to recover and said it was one of the most explosive dinner parties they’ve ever seen, and they’ve been working on the show since the start,’ the source added. 

Producers have cracked down hard on behind-the-scenes behaviour this season, implementing strict boundaries, zero tolerance for tantrums and even regular drug testing.

‘This season’s brides came in with major princess attitudes, but they were humbled real fast,’ a source close to the show dished.

‘Producers weren’t bending on anything. One bride tried to storm off after not getting her way, only to be told she’d be in breach of contract. There was no special treatment for anyone this year.’

In an incident that left the crew scrambling, one unnamed bride reportedly vanished from set for over 12 hours after clashing with production.

‘She left first thing in the morning and refused to answer her phone,’ the insider said.

‘Producers had runners checking hotels and the streets around Green Square, where the show is currently being filmed. They genuinely didn’t know where she went.’

She eventually returned – but not before threatening to quit the experiment altogether.

Several participants walked out mid-experiment, while another quit the show to protect his image.

‘It was clear some of them had no interest in taking the process seriously,’ said the insider.

‘One groom was telling the boys he’d already lined up post-show deals, while another told producers he had to leave early to ‘protect his brand’.’

Not even the long-standing experts could keep things on track this season. 

With all the behind-the-scenes chaos, executives at Channel Nine are reportedly on edge, unsure how the public will respond to what insiders are calling the most off-the-rails cast in franchise history.

‘Nothing could prepare them for how badly this group would behave,’ one source said.

‘They’re constantly doing damage control. The cast doesn’t care about the rules anymore – it’s like they’ve already decided to blow the whole thing up.’
