Megyn Kelly rips ‘rabid, angry lesbian’ Megan Rapinoe for Donald Trump attack on USA hockey team
Megyn Kelly has launched a blistering attack on American soccer great Megan Rapinoe after her outburst at the gold medal-winning men’s USA hockey team.
Rapinoe went in on the heroes for laughing when Trump said he must invite the women’s hockey team to the White House alongside them after last Sunday’s overtime win against Canada at the Winter Olympics.
Both the women’s and men’s team won gold at the Games in Italy. But Rapinoe slammed the men for mingling with Trump so quickly, saying they ‘ripped defeat from the jaws of victory’ and were ‘clowns’ for allowing Trump in on their moment.
It sparked a savage response from Kelly, who drew comparisons with Rapinoe and the 2015 USA World Cup-winning team enjoying a call from Barack Obama after their triumph on the global stage.
‘The nerve of this woman to call these guys clowns. She is jealous. She is full of hatred for anyone who is a white male,’ Kelly said on her Sirius show. ‘She is like a rabid, angry lesbian.’
Kelly then shared footage of Obama on the phone to Rapinoe and her 2015 team, where the then-President joked he would tell the men’s team that they didn’t get as many television viewers as their female counterparts.

‘President Obama called the women’s team after they won the World Cup in 2015,’ Kelly added. ‘It’s only controversial when it is President Trump, you see.
‘She is just jealous that they are in the spotlight and she is not. In fact, she is loathed by more than half of the country, unlike these guys who are beloved and she can’t see straight.
‘She wants to take it away from them and she feels powerless to do it, because she is. Enjoy your bitter, bitter life.’
Rapinoe made her comments earlier in the week on her ‘A Touch More’ podcast that she co-hosts with her wife, ex-WNBA player Sue Bird.
‘In what I like to call a classic “ripping defeat from the jaws of victory”, the United States men’s hockey team, in their utter moment of glory, childhood dreams come true, sensational, ruined it for themselves,’ Rapinoe said.
‘They allowed themselves to be co-opted by a clown. And now you’re a clown. You look like a clown.
‘They get on the phone with Trump and Trump makes the comment about the women’s team. We’re not gonna play it, it’s all over the internet and we’re not gonna platform that trash.
‘You just accomplished this amazing thing. You just gave this whole moment over to this person who you know is only going to use it for him.’
