Moment British tourist drinks a beer as he’s swallowed by quicksand in hole he had dug on beach in Brazil

A British man abroad was nearly swallowed by quicksand in an eight foot hole he dug himself—which took three hours to be rescued from.

Jensen Sturgeon, 22, was trying to dig into the sand as deep as he could but he eventually struck water and the hole quickly collapsed around him.

It soon turned into a quicksand trap that caused his legs to sink and become stuck, when he ‘thought I was going to die’.

The young was seen swallowed by the sand eight feet below which covered most of his body.

It took a team of tourists, vendors and lifeguards who spent more than three hours trying to save him, according to witnesses.

Some were handing him shovels and buckets so the young man could dig himself out, and others handed him wood and rope in an attempt to pull him out.

But Mr Sturgeon seemed in positive spirits during the ordeal which didn’t stop him from guzzling a beer.

He was eventually freed by rescuers as dozens of bemused tourists and locals surrounded him and applauded his escape.
