Morocco integrates the Israeli “Barak MX” long-range air defense system to strengthen its air defenses
Arab Defense Website – December 17, 2025: Recent satellite images showed the presence of the advanced Israeli air defense system “Barak MX” inside Moroccan territory, for the first time since the announcement of its acquisition deal more than two years ago. The pictures focus on the practical deployment of the system inside the military base in Sidi Yahia El Gharb, northeast of the capital, Rabat, which indicates that it has entered the stage of actual operation within the arsenal of the Royal Armed Forces.
This step comes after the completion of a huge military deal between Morocco and Israel in February 2022, worth approximately $500 million. The system is characterized by multi-layered capabilities, enabling it to confront various threats, including combat aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles, through multiple missiles with ranges of up to 150 kilometers, supported by advanced radars that provide accurate and comprehensive coverage.
