Kim Kardashian took one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind when she recently claimed the moon landing was faked, so much so that it ruffled the feathers of NASA itself.

ICYMI, the reality star recirculated the long-running conspiracy theory during a recent episode of The Kardashians, telling her All’s Fair co-star Sarah Paulson, who appeared in a guest segment, that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing “didn’t happen”.
The source of her belief, you ask? Perhaps a well-researched academic study or a paper from an astronaut? Nope, it was TikTok, where all good conspiracies go to flourish!
Kardashian said she had seen an interview in which Buzz Aldrin, who underwent the Apollo 11 mission with Neil Armstrong, said “there was no scary moment” during the moon landing “because it didn’t happen”.
While Kardashian seemingly took Aldrin’s comments out of context (more on that later), her admission appeared to stump Paulson, who said she would embark on her own “massive deep dive” to decide whether the moon landing was faked.
She’ll get to it in between ugly-crying scenes and the next season of American Horror Story, I guess!
In proof that this timeline is utterly insane, Kardashian’s comments evidently made it US Transport Secretary and acting NASA administrator Sean Duffy, who took to social media to reiterate that we have, in fact, been to the moon.
“Yes, [Kim Kardashian], we’ve been to the moon before… 6 times!” Duffy wrote on X. “We won the last space race and we will win this one too.”
We can’t know for sure whether Duffy’s post will convince Kardashian of the Apollo 11’s legitimacy (she believes in face-sculptors, but not the moon landing? OK!), but the reality star said she was first convinced of the conspiracy when she saw a clip of Aldrin denying the mission ever happened.
In his actual quote, made during a 2015 onstage appearance at Britain’s Oxford Union debating society, Aldrin was asked about the “scariest moment” during the journey.
“The scariest? It didn’t happen. It could have been scary,” Aldrin said, suggesting that nothing frightening actually happened. You know, beyond flying to the freaking moon.
Kardashian has yet to respond to Duffy’s comments, but between reality star, actress, soon-to-be lawyer and businesswoman, I wouldn’t be surprised if she adds astronaut to her resume.
Does anyone know if they make Skims spacesuits?
